Republic of Korea War Service MedalROK to Provide War Service Medals
The South Korean government has announced it will provide
the Republic of Korea War Service Medal at no cost to
eligible U.S. veterans of that war, or to their surviving
next of kin. To be eligible, U.S. military personnel must
have: (1) served between June 25, 1950, and July 27, 1953;
(2) been on permanent assignment or on temporary duty for
30 consecutive days or 60 non-consecutive days; and (3)
performed their duty within the territorial limits of Korea,
in the adjacent waters or in aerial flight over Korea
participating in or in support of combat operations.
The U.S. Air Force has been designated to receive and
